The Birmingham Grand Opera Company’s anniversary performance is jeopardized when the lead Italian tenor falls into a drunken stupor. So the impresario's diminutive assistant blacks up and goes on as Othello. The tenor awakens, dons his costume, and then follows an hilarious comedy involving two Othellos, a volatile Italian wife, and outrageous bellhop and a cynical impresario. With Seven Tony award nominations, Lend Me A Tenor is a hilarious romp of mistaken identities, desperate measures and compromising positions.
